FTAS Installation

Currently, all FTAS installations require a Verizon technician to come to the home/business to install the Optical Network Terminal (ONT). Prior to the installation date Verizon recommends that the Service Provider contact their end user to verify that the end user will be home on the day of install. A Verizon technician will do the following to ensure the customer has connectivity:
Call the customer, i.e. the end-user, prior to visit.
Install fiber drop to customer premise (may occur prior to installation            day).
Install ONT and connect to AC power source.
Cable to a point on premises or to a Verizon installed router.
        Sync test from ONT/router.

Consumer FTAS Installation
An Installation and Activation NRC will be applied to new service requests. The NRC includes all network setup, ONT installation, cabling from ONT to the router.
For Verizon-defined Consumer locations, the router will be installed as part of the Service and included in the Installation and Activation NRC. The router is the Service end point.

Business FTAS Installation
An Installation and Activation NRC will be applied to new service requests. The NRC Includes all network setup; ONT installation, cabling from the ONT to a router or a point on the premises selected by the Service Provider/end user.
With FTAS Business service, FTAS installation will end at the point on the location defined by the end-user if a router is not requested. If the business places a router that is not purchased from Verizon, the service will not be guaranteed to operate properly nor will Verizon provide technical support beyond the ONT.

Multi-dwelling Units (MDU) Installation
An Installation and Activation NRC will be applied to new service requests.
FTAS is also available at certain MDU locations. Some MDUs are served with Ethernet inside cabling while others require the use of VDSL technology.
In MDUs where FTAS requires the use of VDSL the Service Provider will need to purchase the VDSL Modem and applicable filters from Verizon. In these locations the highest speed that may be purchased is 30Mbps/5Mbps.
Inside Premises Connectivity Package
Up to (5) packages may be purchased per location, at the time of order entry, and will allow for connectivity between the router and PC(s).

Please Note: All Service Providers are required to review the following points with end users prior to submitting FTAS orders:
   Power Verbiage Requirements
Verizon technician will need to come to their home/business and they       must be present.
Verizon technician will plug the ONT into a standard outlet at the       customers premise.
Customer is responsible for battery maintenance.
