A static IP address is assigned uniquely to you. The address is the same every time you log on to the Internet, making it easier for others to locate your business online.
To choose between a static IP address and a dynamic IP address, evaluate how your company uses the Internet. Select a static IP address if you:
- Host your own Web site, e-mail or FTP server
- Allow employees remote access through a virtual private network
- Connect multiple LANs or office locations
- Conduct e-commerce on your Web site
Otherwise, a dynamic IP address should fulfill your company's needs.
