Responsibilities


This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining a set of production applications within the Finance Hyperion Reporting environment. This will include Essbase administration, change control management, table maintenance, month-end data processing, and end user support. This position will also perform business analyst functions for small to intermediate projects in support of production enhancements and automation to their applications. Essential responsibilities include: Change Control Process: Follow standard Change Control processes to implement change requests on a timely basis, including: Evaluate user change requests as it impacts Essbase and Management Reports. Document each change request & the impacts to the environment. Implement approved changes in the Essbase cubes & reference tables. Validate change requests and perform regression testing as needed. Month-End Close support: Support the month-end close process for your relevant applications. This may include: Upload any approved adjustment files, normalizations, or prior period restatements. Ensure the integrity of the data in the cubes. Troubleshoot user upload issues by reviewing their files to ensure that they are loading to the proper members (valid key combinations). Create valid keys in the system if necessary, or provide guidance to users on how they should be loading their data. Work with the Hyperion IT team to troubleshoot any Hyperion systems issues in a timely matter. Business Analyst functions: Lead projects related to change requests and system enhancements to improve the applications within your responsibility. This includes: Elicit requirements from key stakeholders and/or determining needs based off of prior experience Construct models related to processes, data, workflow, use cases, etc. as needed to identify requirement specifications & develop business architecture as-is and to-be models Document, validate, and manage requirements and change requests. Support the delivery of projects by finalizing documentation, including training material, M&Ps, etc; provide training and user support for the projects as necessary; and plan and implement continuous improvement of the solution Subject Matter Expert/Internal Consultant: Provide application support to end users as required. Monitor the Essbase mailbox for any questions & follow-up as needed. Provide subject matter expertise to ensure that all systems development activities are in sync with the strategic vision and corporate initiatives.

Qualifications


Candidate must have solid verbal & writing skills, and must be able to translate user requests into functional requirements, as well as effectively describe technical specifications to business users, both verbally and through documentation. Candidate must be able to network with others to accomplish daily tasks. Candidate will be expected to complete tasks independently and make decisions and recommendations that comply with management reporting guidelines to accurately ensure the financial integrity of our financial statements. Candidate must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and demonstrate leadership qualities. Candidate must have the ability to work extended hours on-site during the Change Control process, as well as during month-end and for critical projects as needed to meet reporting deliverables. Bachelor s degree in Mgmt Info Systems, Finance or related discipline. 4+ years of relevant wireless and/or technology industry experience. Balance of financial skills, database mining, change control process management, highly developed analytical skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize across multiple cross-functional teams. Experience with requirements gathering, integrative thinking, process definition, and deployment of business requirements to information systems. Familiarity with SDLC processes, including waterfall & agile. Familiarity with OLAP & relational database concepts and ETL processes is required. Advanced experience with Hyperion Essbase and/or Planning is required (modeling Essbase cubes, building ad-hoc queries, report scripts, calc scripts, data load rules, etc.). Experience with Essbase Administration Services (EAS) or other Essbase outline maintenance tools (EPMA, DRM, Essbase Studio) is a plus. Intermediate knowledge of SQL (select statements & simple joins) is required. Experience with Verizon Wireless reporting systems, such as the Peoplesoft G/L system, Data Warehouse, CIABI, PEAK, Cognos, and Hyperion Reports is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Access, including creating tables, building queries, developing forms, designing reports, and managing automation through VBA is required. Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Visio and MS Project experience a plus.
