Responsibilities

This position is responsible for designing, building, and supporting Dodeca applications within the Finance Hyperion Reporting environment. Dodeca is a reporting tool that works off of OLAP (mainly Essbase) & relational databases, with a look & feel of Excel. This position will also perform business analyst functions for new projects and support production processes as needed within the Finance Hyperion Reporting environment. This includes Essbase administration, table maintenance, change control processes, and month-end support. Experience with the Essbase model, building custom reports in Essbase using the Excel Add-in or Smartview, SQL, and VBA experience is required. Essential responsibilities include: Dodeca development management: Responsible for the design & development of new Dodeca applications to support business process and system solutions. This includes: Work with the Business Analyst to define requirements related to Dodeca. In smaller projects, elicit and document the requirements as necessary. Design and document application features to meet the requirements and conduct structured reviews of the design with the Business Analysts & Project Manager for design sign-off. Develop Dodeca applications based off of the approved design documents. Perform unit and system integration testing of the Dodeca applications, in conjunction with the Business Analysts, prior to releasing to end users for UAT. Support user acceptance tests and resolve defects quickly and accurately through managed release cycles. Support the delivery of the Project as needed, which may include finalizing documentation related to each project, including training material, M&Ps, etc.; providing training and user support for the projects as necessary Manage requirement change requests during the life-cycle of the project. Dodeca production maintenance and enhancements: Following standard change control processes for managing change requests to the applications. Working with other upstream systems to the Dodeca application and being aware of any of their changes that may impact the Dodeca applications. Maintaining user guides, M&Ps, etc to ensure that they are up-to-date with the latest Dodeca application functionality Provide end-user support with the Dodeca applications and follow-up with IT as needed to resolve system issues Work with AppliedOLAP & IT as needed to implement upgrades and patches to the Dodeca application, as well as software enhancements. Other responsibilities include working on other projects that improve the overall functionality of the Hyperion Reporting system. This will include managing the requirements and testing phases of the project. This position may also assist on production change control efforts as needed.

Qualifications

Candidate must have solid verbal & writing skills, and must be able to translate user requests into functional requirements, as well as effectively describe technical specifications to business users, both verbally and through documentation. Candidate must be able to network with others to accomplish daily tasks. Candidate will be expected to complete tasks independently and make decisions and recommendations that comply with management reporting guidelines to accurately ensure the financial integrity of our financial statements. Candidate must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and demonstrate leadership qualities. Candidate must have the ability to work extended hours on-site during the Change Control process and for critical projects as needed to meet reporting deliverables. Bachelor s degree in Mgmt Info Systems, Finance or related discipline. 4+ years of relevant wireless and/or technology industry experience. Advanced knowledge of SQL and VBA is required. SQL Navigator &/or Teradata Queryman experience is a plus. Advanced experience with Hyperion Essbase and/or Planning is required (modeling Essbase cubes, building ad-hoc queries, report scripts, calc scripts, data load rules, etc.). Experience with Essbase Administration Services (EAS) or other Essbase outline maintenance tools (EPMA, DRM, Essbase Studio) is a plus. Experience with requirements gathering, integrative thinking, process definition, and documenting technical specifications. Familiarity with SDLC processes, including waterfall & agile. Balance of financial skills, database mining, change control process management, highly developed analytical skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize across multiple cross-functional teams. Experience with Verizon Wireless reporting systems, such as the Peoplesoft G/L system, Data Warehouse, CIABI, PEAK, Cognos, and Hyperion Reports is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Access, including creating tables, building queries, and developing forms is required. Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Visio and MS Project experience a plus.
