Job Description
Support Secure Information Services (SIS) activities with regards to providing advanced capabilities, research, tools, and platforms particularly with memory analysis, virtualization security, incident response, and computer forensics. The Threat Intelligence Research Engineer (TIRE) will work alongside SIS personnel to collect, evaluate, correlate, and report actionable information on real and possible threats against Terremark infrastructure, critical commercial networks, and strategic US networks. The TIRE must keep abreast of the dynamic environment of cyber threat tactics, techniques, and methodologies and vulnerabilities that present possible targets. Employee is involved in delivering strategic security solutions designed to provide these capabilities to both SIS Engagement Services as well as to Managed Security Customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, & METRICS
The Research Engineer will help transition R&D efforts into customer facing services or products. Project oriented experience, excellent written and communication skills as well as a strong technical background in enterprise security and networking fundamentals The Research Engineer will perform R&D efforts in the areas of forensics and incident response. Support Terremark service delivery: incident response, source code audits, reverse engineering, computer forensics, and penetration testing, as necessary Metrics - KPIs will be matched to the Outcomes as described in the Essential Functions above.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate needs a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the security field and or relevant experience. Experience performing research and development in the areas of memory and malware analysis Experience collecting intelligence on advanced cyber threats via open source research, special tools, strategic external partnerships, and other private resources. Experience with Information Assurance, Network Security, and Network Engineering. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively. Ability to write high-quality intelligence assessments and briefings.
