Position Responsibilities:

        Escalate to appropriate group whenever network outages or assistance is required

        Contact key personnel whenever major failure occurs

        Support Installations on any cable creations or modifications

        Serve as a technical council for customers as well as in-house (sales, SECNOC, etc.)

        Provisioning of xconnect ports (within Remedy + EPP database)

        Provisioning facility access for customers and personnel

        Processing customer work orders and ODT's upon request from other departments (IFC's, xconns, etc.)

        Build circuit cross-connections within the meet point room

        Build interconnections within the peering room panels and both meet point rooms

        Build and provide bandwidth utilization reports for customers

        Configuring / integrating in-house workstations and servers

        Configuring / integrating customer servers

        Configuring in-house and customer networking devices (all sites)

        Configuring Stratum clocking services for customers

        Perform circuit migrations onto the newly deployed optical platform

        Complete circuit hot-cuts for customers and in-house

        Train in-house personnel on new operations procedures

        Process new xconnect requests in the event that Service Center is unavailable

        Troubleshooting customer circuits

        Troubleshooting customer routing + switching equipment

        Troubleshooting customer servers (multi-OS)

        Update ARIN SWIP records for customers

        Manage peering room walkway displays

        Perform equipment inventory (as directed by legal)

        Perform data backup tape rotations for customers and in-house

        Serve as technical apprentice to IP Engineering Tier 2 (help complete CM's, etc.)

        Serve as customer service representatives in the event that Service Center is unavailable

        Prepare, test, run, and dress any type of circuit on any medium of networking cable (ABAM, coaxial, fiber, etc.)

        Rack and stack any networking equipment for customers and in-house

        Perform security walkthroughs throughout the building outside of normal operating hours

        Receive any equipment delivered after hours to Materials Management

        Escort clients who have 2nd level restriction

        Complete Hardware and Software builds for new server deployments, ensuring adherence to documented build procedures

        Assist with all facets of build process, including: shipping and receiving, identification of product incompatibility and work around solutions needed

        Rack & cable new equipment as well as decommissioning older equipment

        Other duties as assigned

 Required Skills & Experience:

        Certification is a requirement: A+

        Certifications are desired: CCNA, Network +, Server +   

2+ years of experience desired with the following areas:

        Build and troubleshoot servers

        Support and Install Router

        Build Network gear

        Troubleshoot network problems

        Understand how to do back-up for customer

        Troubleshoot cross-connects

Desired Skills & Experience:

        Experience in Data Communications Networking

        Linux Plus

        IBM gear

        Testing different type of circuits

        Good customer skills

        Good communications skill, written and oral

        Bi-lingual a plus

        Flexible to work in a 24x7 environment

Education & Experience:

        Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred

        Requires minimum of 2 yrs. Experience
