Linux Systems Administrator, OSS Configuration Services
The Linux Administrator joins the team responsible for overall availability, reliability and security of the Terremark Operational Support Services (OSS) organization. The Linux SysAdmin will work on the Configuration Services team, responsible for server build automation, patch management automation, and overall performance and operational reliability for the Terremark Cloud Service environment. The Linux Systems Administrator will be expected to manage multiple simultaneous projects, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Travel to local datacenters for hands-on datacenter work is required.
Responsibilities include:

Daily monitoring of the Linux Configuration Services management systems (Puppet), troubleshoot, and escalate if needed

Maintain and validate YUM repository updates for Redhat, CentOS, and EPEL

Daily monitoring of the Linux patching process across cloud platforms

Perform and QA Linux builds on new hardware platforms

Perform and QA Linux builds across all hardware and virtual platforms for new minor OS releases

Build and QA Linux eCloud/vCloud templates for minor releases

Frontline response for incoming trouble tickets for Linux Configuration Services
Required Skills & Experience:
-
2+ Years of Linux experience, Redhat/CentOS Preferred

3+ Years of General IT experience
-
Bachelors or Associates degree, Computer Science preferred

1+ Years of scripting experience – Shell, Perl, Python, PHP or Ruby
-
1+ Years experience with VMWare, ESX, and VCenter CLI
-
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple high-priority projects simultaneously

Intelligent, quick learner
-
Good written and oral communication skills
