Job Description

We are looking for someone with a strong systems administration background.  We utilize Linux, Windows and ESX based systems on a wide range of hardware.  Experience with AD, puppet, nagios, pam are required.  A basic understanding, and administration of database servers is important, specifically MySQL and Postgres.  .  Use of package management tools for various linux distributions is a must, specifically apt and yum, as well as manual manipulation of rpm and deb packages.  Patch management and understanding of security principles is a must, keeping the servers up to date and locked down is a requirement.

Use of programming languages such as php and python is a plus, experience with shell scripting (bourne or korn) is a requirement.  Also, use of basic tools such as sed/awk/grep is a must.  The ability to automate a large part or all of the job is our end goal.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (describes minimum levels of formal education, training, and applicable experience required to perform the role.)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of professional experience in systems and network administration.
• 3+ years of Operating System Administration and/or Security on a combination of systems such as: Linux (Redhat, CentOS, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu), Microsoft Windows (2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008,Mac OSX
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals such as: TCP/IP
• In depth knowledge of network "plumbing" such as: Fiber Optics, Network Taps, SPAN aggregation
• Working knowledge of Information Security concepts
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Desired Experience:
• Certifications are a plus:  SANS-GSEC, SANS-GIAC, SANS-GCIH, CISSP
• Security architecture analysis and design to include application of intrusion detection tools, packet capture tools,  network traffic flow (netflow) and security management tools.
