Network Engineer

Candidate will be responsible for the following:

Engineer will be responsible for core and custom network support and operations, assisting with architecture and design. Engineer will also be responsible for Tier II proactive monitoring/execution, maintenance and changes of internal and customer facing network devices.  This includes troubleshooting website and network connectivity issues to resolution and completely and accurately documenting all work activity in the CRM system.  Engineer will work directly with other internal engineering departments and data center personnel to ensure that all customer expectations are being met at the highest possible level. This position has a set schedule, but is expected to execute complex network changes and provide escalation coverage 24x7 365 days. The Engineer will also be responsible for ensuing escalations coverage for complex networking issues.

Required Skills & Experience:

4+ years of network experience with Cisco routers and switches.
Intermediate level understanding and experience with routing and switching technologies.
Intermediate level understanding and experience with 802.1q, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLAN
Intermediate level understanding and experience with routing protocols, specifically BGP, IS-IS and EIGRP
Intermediate level understanding and experience with firewall and load balancer technologies.
Intermediate level understanding and experience with IPSEC VPN(s) tunnels.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques.
Exhibits mature organization and time management skills.
Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with high availability environment with 99.99% SLA
Accomplishes task with minimal supervision.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Experience with MPLS.
Previous experience in a service provider network setting
Intermediate Cisco, Juniper and/or Brocade certifications
