Senior Consultant is responsible for providing planning, analysis, design, and management of information security risk intelligence requirements and collections. This includes routinely coordinating with internal and external customers for their critical intelligence requirements and working with them and other Verizon organizations to determine what observables support those requirements and coordinating efficient collection of raw data from those observables for analysis and synthesis. In conjunction with determining requirements, plans the format, frequency and delivery method for intelligence products meeting those requirements. For external customers coordinate all activities with their supporting Verizon account and security support teams prior to customer contact. Interact with sales and service delivery teams throughout. Also responsible for participating in other RISK Team activities including open source intelligence processing, investigative case analysis supporting the Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) and contributing articles to the Verizon Business Security Blog. Act as acting manager for the open source intelligence team during the manager's absences.
Senior Consultant should have in-depth knowledge and working experience in information security risk and the intelligence cycle. Information security includes the security attributes: confidentiality, possession, integrity, authenticity, availability and utility. Risk includes vulnerabilities, threat rate and impact or cost. The intelligence cycle includes establishing requirements, setting priorities, collection, analysis, processing or synthesis, dissemination and validating requirement satisfaction.
Ability to analyze and interpret data, communicate orally, and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner, communicate with all levels of management and company personnel, handle multiple projects and tasks, make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure, use personal computer and software applications (i.e. Office XP etc.), work independently, be flexible, work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations. Knowledge of very large scale Internet networks (backbone or Tier 1 networks) and very large scale corporate networks is advantageous. Bachelor Degree a computer- or telecommunications-related field is a plus. CISSP and other security certifications is also a plus.
