This is an opportunity to join a highly performing team who manage Computing as a Service (SAAS / CaaS) and Enterprise Hosting clients. Our client base includes many Blue Chip companies, who will treat you as an extension of their own internal IT department. As part of the account management team, it will be your responsibility to manage such accounts and maintain excellent relationships with the key contacts. You will be supported by various other expert teams, who will rely on your knowledge to succeed. A Client Services Engineer serves in a consultative role and is responsible for the technical and operational integrity of the clients hosted environment. You will be adept at troubleshooting and administrating Windows Server Operating Systems and applications. In addition, you will be a good communicator, capable of working closely with internal and external customers. Job Summary and Major Responsibilities Provides second tier server and network analysis and troubleshooting support to a team of Client Services staff in support of a number of clients. Performs Quality Assurance on technical work provided by other internal departments on behalf of clients Performs capacity and network analysis, risk assessment, and formulates network documentation (e.g. logical diagrams) and solutions Provides regular reporting on network and system performance. Proactively identifies and recommends improvements to customers' configurations based on clients' business and technical needs. Acts as a technical resource to Client Services staff and provide training and mentoring for other staff on technical issues. Works with other staff to ensure that data maintained in internal systems is accurate and that client requests are processed in a timely fashion. Acts as a technical resource with customers and internal departments during on-site visits and conference calls. Provides customer's business and technical personnel with direct contact to a high level engineer Performs in depth troubleshooting of recurring technical problems and responds to requests for routine network and administrative tasks. Submits, works, tracks, and closes Service Requests. Documents site configuration and specific information into a Runbook Studies latest technologies in order to respond to client queries
Qualifications: Education, Work Experience, and Qualifications Technical Bachelor's degree is an advantage (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering). Microsoft certification (MCSE/MCSA) is essential Display relevant IT experience as a server administrator in a Windows Server environment Experience within the internet or web hosting industry preferable Customer service experience with external customers required
Additional Qualifications: Representative Technical Skills Expert in Windows Server Operating Systems 2000, 2003 and/or 2008 Expert in Internet Information Service IIS5, IIS6 and/or IIS7 Knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL Server Understanding of Internet technologies (including basic networking protocols, DNS, etc) Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to analyse data and make proactive recommendations based on it Must be able to demonstrate a structured approach to troubleshooting
