Overview of VLDP:

The Verizon Leadership Development Program (VLDP) is an entry level career opportunity that encourages participants to develop the skills and capabilities needed to meet current and future business needs, all while experiencing diverse job rotations across the enterprise in different locations throughout the country.

Here’s what you’ll experience in this cutting-edge program:

  • Participants complete rotations throughout Verizon's core and wireless groups, focusing on the development of key functional skills
  • Participants strengthen their technical, business and leadership skills through structured, 'real life’ assignments; participation in enterprise wide LDP leadership/management development curriculum and defined networking/support activities
  • Participants apply their skills in a full range of high-impact projects, meetings, & presentations
  • Participants successfully completing program performance criteria are eligible for placement post program

Overview of HR Program:

When you start on your career path with our two year entry-level Human Resources Leadership Development Program, you'll expand your sphere of talent and influence with a team committed to enhancing our work environment. You'll learn from dedicated professionals through a series of powerful rotations within Verizon, developing a strong foundation of skills in a variety of areas. You'll end your journey at the start of another, ready to channel your leadership, business and management expertise into a career with unlimited potential. While completing rotational assignments, you'll constantly be challenged to generate smart solutions. Rotations may include: staffing, employee relations, compensation, HR business partner, and diversity & talent management.

Position Rotations and Responsibilities May Include:

  • Recruiting and staffing logistics, including contacting and screening potential new hires, contractors, and vendors
  • Designing and implementing performance management and talent assessments
  • Developing employee orientation and training and development programs in conjunction with the Learning & Development team
  • Enhancing employee relations through data analysis and employee interviews
  • Learning and understanding compensation and benefits administration

Position responsibilities will vary by rotation, location, and business

Required Skills & Experience Qualifications:

  • BS/BA or straight through Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, with less than one year related experience
  • 3.0+ GPA preferred 
  •  In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Superior organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, strong written/verbal communications
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and team orientation
  • Excellent quantitative skills
  • Able to work effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines
  • MUST be willing to relocate. Rotation locations are primarily in Basking Ridge, NJ, however, candidates may be placed for long- or short-term rotations in other locations throughout Verizon’s U.S. footprint
  • MUST have authorization to work permanently in the United States
