Manages a global team of Private IP product managers. To develop and manage the capital budget associated with the associated portfolio. Responsible for the management/evolution of supported product/service based on input from between product development, product marketing and communications and ensures product/service continues to evolve with technology/client and industry demands.Develops and maintains the product roadmap(s) for the entire portfolio in the area of Product responsibility.Develops the annual capital budget submission for the portfolio and manages that budget together with the product development team throughout the financial year. Supports the development of the annual revenue forecasting exercise for the portfolio.Supports the development of the detailed business case for each product development activity, ensuring costs and revenues are accurately reflected, and develops strong supporting documentation to aid business case justification and sign-off.Tracks the revenue, margin, and technical performance of the portfolio and instigates remedial action where necessary. Seeks opportunities for back office process improvements to improve customer satisfaction and ease of sale. Identifies and contributes to internal and external campaigns designed to create awareness and stimulate awareness of the product portfolio.Develops the detailed requirements for each new product or features, and gains sign-off of the requirements with each functional area.Manages the end to end product development process and ensures all functional areas have sign-off an the development and any alpha/beta trials prior to Ready for Revenue. Works with the Portfolio Product Marketing manager to develop a full go to market plan for each development and ensures all relevant internal and external collateral is available in a timely manner and published to the appropriate internal/external web sites. Manages staff to encourage outstanding performance. Ensures all staff have clear and measurable, challenging whilst achievable objectives aligned with the business imperatives. Ensures the formal twice yearly Performance Excellence process is completed, backed up by regular one to ones. Provide help and guidance with the development of individual team member's.
Qualifications: Advanced skills to perform complex work for a functional area and general knowledge of other areas; requires independent thinking; demands full use and application of principles, theories, concepts and technologies. Generally requires a BS degree and a minimum of 9 years experience in a related discipline or 5 - 8 years of supervisory experience..
Additional Qualifications: The incumbent will have experience of managing a product management and/or development team in a fast moving highly technical communications environment. Ideally detailed understanding of the workflows, back office systems, and product components that make up the complete service wraparound of a communications service. Good presentation skills with the ability to present credibly to both internal and customer senior management. Skills and understanding of market research, sales forecasting and promotional planning. Understand how to take a product from concept to commercialization.
