Electronic Communications Gateway (ECG)
Types of Changes:
Bell Atlantic’s ECG provides Local Service Providers (LSPs) with mediated on-line access to information in Bell Atlantic’s operating support systems (OSSs). Such access is needed by the LSPs for order negotiation, processing, and ascertaining the status of local service requests. ECG also provides mediated on-line access to allow LSPs to enter trouble tickets on a local service account and to update and determine the status of the trouble report.
LSPs may connect to ECG either via a dial-up modem using authentication or dedicated private line using a 1.5 Mbps or 56Kbps circuit. Each user is required to have an individual Bell Atlantic assigned user identification and password for each session. Security card authentication will also be required for each user session to ECG. Usage will be monitored by Bell Atlantic to ensure adherence to Data Security guidelines.
