Types of Changes:
ITS - Cell Relay is a new service which provides common carriers with Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) switching and transport capabilities for Cell Relay Traffic that originates and terminates in separate Local Access and Transport Areas (LATAs), at least one end of which is located in the Bell Atlantic region.
ITS - Cell Relay will interconnect with common carriers via ATM User-to-Network (UNI) version 3.0 or version 3.1 interfaces. ATM Broadband ISDN Inter-Carrier Interfaces (BICIs) per version 1.1 are expected to be supported at a later time. Cell Relay ATM UNI interfaces (and future ATM BICI 1.1 interfaces) will be available via 45 Mbps DS3 facilities and via 155 Mbps OC3c facilities.

ITS - Cell Relay is tentatively scheduled to be offered as early as 7/1/97,subject to approval by the appropriate federal and state regulatory agencies. To confirm the actual deployment date, contact the Product Manager listed below.
Locations changes are to occur: ITS - Cell Relay will be deployed in the following jurisdictions: Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. ITS - Cell Relay will interconnect with common carriers in the Washington and North Jersey LATAs.
Reasonable foreseeable impact of change:
ITS - Cell Relay will enable common carriers to provide end-to-end Cell Relay services for traffic that originates from, and/or terminates to, Cell Relay ATM UNIs in any LATA in the above listed Bell Atlantic jurisdictions (dependent upon local Cell Relay service availability).
