Type of Change:
Bell Atlantic Utility Telemetry Service provides access to meter reading devices connected to the customer's loop. A connection occurs when equipment at the utility's location connects a specific customer line to a utility telemetry trunk. This service will not allow connection to a busy line. The duration of the connection is limited and is controlled by the network switch.

Utility Telemetry Service is initially scheduled to be offered to specific customers in New Jersey during June, and in Pennsylvania during July and in other jurisdictions thereafter. To confirm the actual deployment date, contact the manager listed below.

Bell Atlantic Utility Telemetry Service is planned for deployment in selected central offices throughout Bell Atlantic.
Reasonably foreseeable impact of change:
CPE vendors who are interested in providing CPE for this service will need to meet the interface requirements.
