Subject: ? Voice Messaging Access Interoffice Hubbing (VMAI)
Description / Impact: ? In compliance with Network Disclosure rules applied under FCC Docket No. 92-256, Report and Order, 9 FCC Rcd 4922 (1994), the purpose of this notice is to notify Enhanced Service Providers (ESPs) of GTE Telephone Operating Companies' plans to perform a technical and business analysis with the intent to include Voice Messaging Access Interoffice Hubbing (VMAI) - as a part of GTE's ESP Services. VMAI hubbing provides voice messaging service from a central location. A Voice Message Server (VMS) is located in a "hubbed" switching office and can serve a large number of SS7 connected offices. The VMS is connected to the "host" office via standard voice message trunks and data links.
Depending on the success of the technical and business analysis, on or about December 1, 1998, the GTE Telephone Operating Companies in Texas, Florida and Washington intend to make VMAI available to ESPs via the General Customer Services Tariff in the Dallas, Tampa and Seattle market areas. VMAI will be offered subject to the availability and limitations of Telephone Company Facilities.
Implementation Date: ? Telephone Company anticipates tariff availability date of around December 1, 1998.
