These replacements are required in order to comply with Y2K compatibility standards and will be completed by October 1, 1999. These voice mail server replacements involve the creation of new mailboxes that must be activated by the end user. Actions required by business customers include the recording of a new greeting and name, resetting the password, reactivating Remote Call Notification if ordered, and rebuilding Group Broadcast Lists if appropriate. Business customers will not experience any change with regard to access number, Extension Mailboxes, and Pager Notification. Actions required by residence customers include recording a new greeting and name, resetting the password, and recording Reminder Messages if appropriate. Residence customers will not experience any change with regard to access number, Individual Message Boxes, Pager Notification, and Wake-up. In addition, both business and residence customers will not be able to transfer stored messages from their old mailboxes to their new mailboxes. However, a temporary access number will allow retrieval of stored messages for a two-week period. Specific voice mail server information including migration dates and temporary access numbers by location can be accessed at www.gte.com/Regulatory by selecting the "Network Disclosures - Notice of Network Changes" option, then selecting the "Voice Mail Server Replacements for Y2K Compliance" option, and finally selecting the Schedule option.
