Each Home Monitoring and Control kit includes devices that let you monitor your home and its energy usage remotely. Using the Setup Wizard, you'll set up the devices to be used in the Home Monitoring and Control service. This process allows each device to communicate wirelessly with the Gateway Device and enable operation from your computer, compatible smartphone, and FiOS TV.

The Gateway Device and/or Remote Control are used during the “pairing” process to enable communication with all of your other Home Monitoring and Control devices.  The Remote Control can be used to operate your devices in a “mode” or programmed setting, which allows you to operate the devices remotely from inside or outside your home at a short distance (approx. 200 feet or less).

Verizon Home Monitoring and Control also provides support for some z-wave devices not purchased from Verizon.
