    • Create a dial-up connection with Windows 95/98 Before following the instructions below, use the Verizon Online Dial-up Access number tool to choose a local dial-up access phone number.
    1. From the desktop, double-click My Computer.
    2. Double-click Dial-up Networking.
    3. Double-click Make New Connection.
    4. Type Verizon Online in the box for the name of your computer, and then click Next.
    5. Enter the local dial-up access number you selected, and then click Next.
    6. Click Finish.
    7. From the Dial-Up Networking window, double-click the new Verizon Online icon.
    8. Enter VZ/ followed by your User Name (or your User ID), then enter your password.
    9. Check the Save password box, and then click Connect.
    10. If you are having difficulties establishing a connection, return to step 8 and remove VZ/ while leaving your User Name (or your User ID), then entering your password.
