Using the D-Link router's configuration utility to test your Ethernet cable
  1. If you have re-connected both ends of your Ethernet cable, but the LAN lights still aren't illuminated, you can use the D-Link router utility to test the cable.

  2. Open a browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox and enter http://192.168.0.1 in the Address field.

  3. Enter your router user name and password. If you didn't change the user name and password during installation, enter Admin as the user name and leave the Password field blank.

  4. Select the Tools tab.

  6. Select Cable Test in the left navigation panel.
    • If you checked the Ethernet cable connections but the cable test shows it is as disconnected, the cable is bad and should be replaced.
