Step 3: Identifying your shared folders in Windows XP A home network allows you to share folders with the other users on your home network. In this step, you will identify the folders on your computer that are shared. Only these shared folders will be visible to the other uses on the network.
Note: Before you can share folders on your computer, you must configure Windows XP to allow others to share the folders on your computer.
To identify the folders on your computer you want to share in Windows XP:
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Right click on the folder or file you want to share.
- Select Sharing and Security from the pop-up menu.
