Entering DNS settings in the D-Link DI-624 router to opt out of DNS Assistance
- Open a Web browser and enter 192.168.0.1 in the Address bar at the top of the screen.
- Enter your router user name and password into the Login screen.
Note: If you haven't changed the default user name and password, enter admin in the User Name field and leave the Password field blank. - Click WAN in the left navigation panel.
- Before changing any DNS entries, please write down the current server addresses listed in the Primary DNS Address and Secondary DNS Address fields.
- Change the last octet of the Primary and Secondary DNS server addresses to 14. For example:
You look up the DNS information and the server numbers are:- 123.123.123.12 Primary DNS
- 123.123.123.12 Secondary DNS
- 123.123.123.14 Primary DNS
- 123.123.123.14 Secondary DNS
- Click Apply.
- Click Continue to confirm you want to restart the router.
- Close the D-Link setup window.
- Restart your computer.
- After your computer restarts, open a web browser and enter http://www.verizon.com/ to test your new DNS settings. The Verizon home page should display.
