- Open Outlook 2007.
- Open the Tools menu and then select Account Settings.
- From the Email tab in the Account Settings dialogue box, select New.

Enter the following into the Auto Account Setup window:
- In the Your Name field, enter your full name.
- In the E-mail Address field, enter your Verizon Online email address.
- In the Password field, enter your Verizon Online password.
- In the Retype Password field, type your Verizon Online password again.
- Click the Next button. The Internet E-mail Settings window opens.

Enter your Internet E-mail Settings:
- In the Your Name field, type your full name as you want it to appear.
- In the E-mail Address field, type your Verizon Online email address. From the Account Type drop-down, select POP3.
- In the Incoming mail server field, type pop.verizon.net
- In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field, type smtp.verizon.net
- In the User Name field, type your Verizon Online user name.
- In the Password field, type your Verizon Online password. Checkmark the box next to Remember Password.
- Click More Settings...
- Select the Outgoing Server tab, and checkmark the box My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Next, choose to Use same settings as my incoming mail server

Select the Advanced tab.
- The Incoming Server (POP3) should be set to 995.
- For Incoming mail (POP3), check the box that says "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)".
- The Outgoing Server (SMTP) should be set to 465.
- Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (select from dropdown)
- Click OK.
- Click Next and then Finish to complete your account setup.
- Open Outlook 2007.
- Open the Tools menu and then select Account Settings.
- From the Email tab in the Account Settings dialogue box, select the incoming.verizon.net email account and click on ‘ Change”
- Click on “more settings”

Select the “advanced tab” and check the following settings
- Type pop.verizon.net in the Incoming (POP3) field.
- The Incoming Server (POP3) should be set to 995.
- For Incoming mail (POP3), check the box that says “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)”.
- Type smtp.verizon.net in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field.
- The Outgoing Server (SMTP) should be set to 465.
- Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (select from dropdown)
- Klick “OK”
- You are done!
