A scheduled scan checks your PC for viruses and other threats on a regular basis. Scheduled scans are essential to ensuring the continuous health of your PC. By default, McAfee performs a scheduled scan once a week, but you can modify the schedule to fit your needs.
To set up scheduled scans:
- On the Home Page, click Real-Time Scanning.
- Under Scheduled Scan, select Turn on to set up scheduled scans..
- Select the frequency drop-down and select how often you'll perform a scan.
- Click Apply to save your settings.
Tips:
- Select Scan using minimal resources to conserve your PC's resources during scans.
- Select Start scan only when my PC is plugged in to conserve your PC's battery power.
