How will my Verizon with MSN Premium service change?
This change will not impact your Verizon Internet connection, service plan, price, or your verizon.net email account. However, there may be changes to your msn.com or hotmail.com email account and / or other Microsoft services including Premium software (see link below to Microsoft FAQ).
How do I continue using my existing Verizon and Microsoft accounts?
- VERIZON: Sign in at http://myverizon.com to access Verizon account services and verizon.net e-mail. Forgot your username and password? Learn more about how to set up and use verizon.net email.
- MICROSOFT hotmail.com or msn.com account: As a courtesy to former Verizon with MSN Premium users, beginning January, 2012, Microsoft will make a special transitional offer available until the cobranded service ends as well as support other options to manage your Microsoft account. If you choose not to take advantage of Microsoft’s limited-time offer within the transition window:
- Your MSN Premium account will automatically expire and the MSN Explorer client will no longer allow you to sign into MSN
- Your MSN primary and secondary e-mail accounts will be converted to free Hotmail accounts which will expire if unused within any 30 day period
- Your McAfee Antivirus/Firewall and Webroot Spy Sweeper services will automatically expire
- Access to stored email for your primary and any secondary accounts and your list of favorite web sites will no longer be available.
Should I change my home page?
We recommend you change your home page to http://www.myverizon.com for easy access to your verizon.net account. Make this change any time by manually updating your browser’s settings or use our switch page for assistance.
Do I need to install or uninstall software?
If you use MSN software such as the MSN Client or MSN Instant Messenger, we recommend you visit the Microsoft account changes and special offer options FAQ support site to explore your MSN software options.
Do I need to change my email settings to use verizon.net?
If you use an email client such as Outlook and your POP settings are set for Verizon, you will not need to make any changes to your POP or SMTP settings. For additional information, please see Verizon.com/emailsettings.
Do I need to change my Internet connection settings?
No, your Internet access and Internet connection settings are not impacted. This change only impacts the URLs used to access your accounts.
Will there be any changes to my verizon.net email accounts?
No, you still have access to a primary account and up to 8 sub-accounts. On the verizon.net My Account page, you can add new email accounts, change passwords, manage your children’s online experience with Parental Controls and much more. Your existing verizon.net email primary and subaccount email IDs and passwords will stay the same.
Will these changes cause my services or pricing to change?
No, there is no change to your Verizon Internet access service, plan, or price as a result of these changes.

How can I get help with my Microsoft account?
