Changing your security settings should be considered routine maintenance that is done three or four times a year.

    The type of data on your network and your level of concern for your network's security will determine the frequency that you change your security settings as well as the Westell security features that you use. Regardless of your situation, you may want to start by periodically changing at least three security settings:

    1. VersaLink 327W gateway password
    2. SSID
    3. WEP encryption key
