    • Changing your Linksys router password
    1. Open your browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape).


    2. Enter 192.168.1.1 in the Address field of your browser.




    3. Enter your current user name in the User Name field and enter your password in the Password field. Click Ok.


    4. If you don't remember your user name and password, please try "admin" for the User Name and "password" for the Password (don't enter the quotation marks). [Show Me]


    5. If "admin" and "password" don't work as the user name and password, the default user name and password have been changed to a unique user name and password and no further action is required: you can close the login window and continue using your High Speed Internet service.


    6. If you don't remember your unique user name and password and want to change them, you must reset your Linksys BEFW11S4 router.
      • Warning: If you reset your Linksys BEFW11S4 router to the factory default settings, all wireless home networking settings will also be reset to the default values, and you will have to re-configure all devices on your network.


    7. Select the Password tab.

    1. Enter the new password in the Router Password field.


    2. Re-enter your new password to confirm that it's correct.


    3. Click Apply.
