To uninstall the AOL software
- Close any open applications.
- Open the Windows Control Panel.
- If using Windows XP or Windows Vista, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
- If using Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000, click the Start button, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add or Remove Programs or Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Highlight America Online or AOL Uninstaller, and then click Change/Remove or Add/Remove.
Note: If you selected America Online, you must first select the versions you want to uninstall before clicking Change/Remove or Add/Remove. - Click Search for Older Versions of AOL.
- Click to select the versions you want to uninstall, and then click Uninstall.
Note: If you want to keep downloaded files or Filing Cabinet files for the versions you selected, make sure Downloaded Files and Filing Cabinet Files are selected. The files will be saved on your desktop in a folder named Saved on AOL. - Click Yes. If prompted, click Restart to restart your computer.
Once you have uninstalled the AOL software, you can reinstall it.
To uninstall the AOL toolbar
- Open the Windows Control Panel.
- If using Windows XP or Windows Vista, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
- If using Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000, click the Start button, click Settings, and then click Control Panel .
- Double-click the Add or Remove Programs or Add/Remove Programs icon .
- Click AOL Toolbar, and then click Change/Remove or Add/Remove.
