    • Release and Renew your Internet connection in Windows® 95, 98, and Me To release and renew your Internet connection in Windows® 95, 98, and Me:

    1. From the Windows taskbar, click Start and then select Run. The Run dialog box opens.


    2. In the Open field, enter winipcfg.

    3. Click OK. The IP Configuration window opens.

    4. Make sure that the correct NIC (Network Interface Card) displays in the IP Configuration window. [Show Me]


    5. Click Release. The information in the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway is removed. [Show Me]


    6. Click Renew. New information displays in the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway fields. [Show Me]


    7. Click More Info to view additional information, or click OK to close the window. [Show Me]


    8. Open a browser to test your new connection.
