    • Connecting the DSL filter Installing filters on your phone devices is Step 1 of the Verizon High Speed Internet installation process. You need to install filters on all phone devices using a telephone line before installing your modem.You'll install your modem in Step 2 of the installation process.

    To install a filter into a standard telephone:
    1. Disconnect the phone (or other device) cord from the wall jack.

    2. Insert the phone cord into the filter.

    3. Insert the filter into the wall jack.

    4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for each device needing a filter.

    Remember:

    • Do not install a filter on your modem

    • Do not install filters on empty phone jacks
