Verizon’s Policy for Video, Data, and Landline Phone Customer Repairs, Replacements and Care:
-
Verizon will provide credits for customers who report an out-of-service condition related to Hurricane Sandy. Customers are eligible for these credits even if the out-of-service condition is reported after Verizon service is restored. Credits will be issued based on the number of days the customer was out of service. Customers may see a partial credit on their bill, with the remaining credits appearing on subsequent bills.
-
Customers may suspend their Verizon landline services free of charge if they’re currently unable to live in their home or operate their small business as a result of Sandy.
-
Verizon technical support will help customers determine if their equipment such as set-top boxes or home broadband routers is operable or needs replacement.
-
The company will repair or replace any consumer or small business Verizon equipment damaged by Sandy, without charge. This includes FiOS set top boxes, FiOS broadband routers, optical network terminals and High Speed Internet (DSL) broadband routers.
-
If you are a consumer customer, you may call 1.877.375.1935 to report an out-of-service condition. If you are a business customer, you may call 1.877.505.1169 to report an out-of service condition. Please note, if you have already reported a trouble to Verizon, no action is required; you will receive a credit on an upcoming bill.
Service Emergency for the following states - CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA, and VA
The effects of Hurricane Sandy have caused significant damage to Verizon locations and equipment along the East Coast. Many areas have experienced significant flooding due to the hurricane and storm surge. In addition, there are poles and lines down across all Verizon communities affected by this storm. Customers may experience a loss of all services, including FiOS (Voice, Internet and Video), High Speed Internet and Standard Telephone Service. Verizon engineers are currently assessing damage across our East Coast locations. Rest assured that our technicians are working around the clock to restore services as quickly as we can for all customers affected by this storm.
-
Commercial power may need to be restored to your home before Verizon services will begin working again.
-
If power lines or poles are down in your neighborhood, Verizon technicians will be unable to replace or restring damaged lines until after the power company restores their damaged lines and poles.
-
It is possible and quite likely that during storm recovery, not all services will be restored at the same time.
Please only contact Verizon if you have power and your services have not been restored or to report damage to poles or wires.
"All circuits are busy" or "Your call cannot be completed at this time"
Some Verizon customers in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region of the U.S. may receive a message of "All circuits are busy" or "Your call cannot be completed at this time" when trying to make a call. This is due to an unusually large volume of calls in the network as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Our engineers are working to accommodate this additional call volume. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
