If you use a firewall, you must ensure that Media Manager has been added to your firewall software's exception list so that it can be detected on your home network.
Depending on the firewall software you use, follow the appropriate instructions below to verify that your Firewall settings exclude Media Manager.
If you use Windows XP Firewall (with Service Pack 2):
- From your Windows System Tray, select Start.
- Select Settings.
- Select Control Panel.
- Select Windows Firewall Settings.
- Select the Exceptions tab.
- Check to make sure that Verizon Media Manager is included in the list of Programs and Services. If it is not:
Select the Add Program button then select Browse and navigate to:
C:\Program Files\Verizon\Verizon Media Manager\Release\Verizon Media Manager.exe
Select Open to add the program to your exceptions list.
If necessary, repeat this step to navigate and include the following two programs to your exceptions list: - C:\Program Files\Verizon\Verizon Media Manager\Release\VTServer.exe
- C:\Program Files\Verizon\Verizon Media Manager\LiveUpdate\vzLiveUpgrade.exe
Once completed, you should be able to see your devices in the Verizon Media Manager TV interface.
If you use Third-Party Firewall software or Verizon Internet Security Suite:
Refer to the Firewall Setup section in the Troubleshooting Guide or open the help section of your firewall software and type Adding software to the exceptions list in the search box.
