Subject: Verizon Advanced Data Inc.

As a condition to the merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE, the Federal Communications Commission required the merged company, Verizon, to establish a separate affiliate to offer advanced data services. These services include xDSL, Frame Relay Service and ATM Service.

Your existing advanced services with Verizon will be assigned to Verizon Advanced Data as part of this process by the end of the year, subject to any necessary state utility commission approval. Your current Verizon team will continue to arrange to provide you with the full suite of Verizon's advanced and other services. Future updates will be communicated to you throughout this transition period.
