Availability

Unbundled dedicated DS1 transport is available throughout the Verizon footprint.

Pricing

Billing for unbundled dedicated DS1 transport begins upon completion of the service order on the requested due date. The following rate elements apply generally for unbundled dedicated transport:

North

  • Service Order Charge
  • Non-Recurring Dedicated Transport Service Connection - Provisioning - applies per transport or entrance facility ordered
  • Non-Recurring Dedicated Transport Service Connection - CO Wiring - applies per facility ordered for the central office wiring required to install the dedicated IOF transport
  • Expedite charges apply for above when the CLEC requests that the unbundled dedicated transport or entrance facilities be provisioned prior to the standard or negotiated interval date

The mileage used to determine the fixed per mile per month charge for unbundled dedicated DS1 transport is based on airline mileage utilizing the Vertical and Horizontal (V&H) coordinate method between the locations to which the facility is provisioned. (In the Verizon North states of Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, the mileage is measured to the CLEC central office location rather than to the Verizon serving central office.). When the calculation results in a fraction of a mile, the mileage is rounded up to the next whole mile before applying the rates.

Pricing varies by state jurisdiction and applies pursuant to individual carrier interconnection agreements.

Features

There are no optional features available on unbundled dedicated DS1 transport.

Detailed Information

Unbundled dedicated DS1 transport consists of a two point digital channel, which provides for simultaneous two-way transmission of serial bipolar return-to-zero isochronous digital electrical signals at a transmission rate of 1.544 megabits per second (Mbps).

The interface to unbundled dedicated DS1 transport is a metallic-based electrical interface. This interface must comply with the ANSI T1.102, 1993 Digital Electrical Interface Standard.

Access to unbundled dedicated DS1 transport is from the CLEC's central office or from the CLEC's collocation arrangement with Verizon via an appropriate cross-connection made on the Digital Signal Cross-connect (DSX).

Unbundled dedicated DS1 transport is available within the same LATA between the following designated locations:

  • CLEC central offices
  • CLEC Collocation Arrangements with Verizon
  • A CLEC Collocation Arrangement with Verizon and a CLEC central office

When Unbundled Dedicated IOF Transport terminates at a Verizon central office, it must terminate at a CLEC collocation arrangement. When Unbundled Dedicated IOF Transport terminates at a CLEC central office, it must be handed to the CLEC from Verizon equipment within the CLEC's central office.
