Direct Access to Directory Assistance Listings Database
Overview
The CLEC may access Verizon's Operator Services Directory Assistance database to provide Directory Assistance to the CLEC's end users. Direct Access customers may query the database only for voice directory assistance service and may not use the database information for marketing, sales or other purposes.
Description
Two Direct Access products are available:
Direct Access South
Direct Access South (DAS) allows customer-provided access to Verizon South's Regional Database. This access is accomplished via connection to the "Directory One" database platform, a Northern Telecom product.
This Database contains all listed Verizon South subscriber telephone numbers for the Verizon South Region, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The listings fall into three categories: Residence, Business and Government. Non-Published listings are included in the database and are presented upon query with name and address information only. A Non-Published indicator is shown in place of a telephone number.
The database is a relational database, which accepts feeds from multiple service order systems and compiles the listing information into one regional database. Updates are provided daily in order to keep data accurate and timely.
Direct Access North
Direct Access North (DAN) allows customer-provided access to Verizon North's Regional Database, providing one source for all Verizon North listings. This access is accomplished via connection to the "Directory Express" database platform, a Volt Delta Resources product.
The database contains all listed Verizon North subscriber telephone numbers. The Region includes New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut (Greenwich and Byram only). The listings fall into three categories: Residence, Business and Government. Non-Published listings are included in the database and are upon query with name information only. A Non-Published indicator is shown in place of a telephone number.

Pricing
Charges for Direct Access consist of two parts;
i) Service establishment and link establishment fees on a non-recurring basis, and
ii) A per query charge on a recurring basis.
Pricing and applicable USOCs may vary by state jurisdiction and pursuant to individual carrier interconnection agreements.
The CLEC must provide data access links to the appropriate operator services DA database, South or North. Verizon will designate the exact delivery point.
Direct Access South
A Direct Access South customer must use its own technically compatible facilities (switch, workstations, modems, etc) to access the database. The customer must also provide data links to the database center in Philadelphia, PA. Detailed information on access to the database is provided in the service contract.
Direct Access North
A Direct Access North customer must use its own technically compatible facilities (switch, workstations, modems, etc.) to access the database. The customer must also provide data links to the database center in Wallington, NJ or Orange, CA. Detailed information on access to the database is provided in the service contract.
