Verizon’s FiberConnect service takes DS1 transmission facilities to a higher level of reliability by guaranteeing you fiber optic DS1 circuits.

Our FiberConnect solution is an Interstate Special Access service that terminates four separate DS1 circuits at a location of your choice within the available markets. The service makes it easy for you to transport communications traffic. 1.544 Mbps of fast connection speed per channel is perfect for providers who want to give customers a higher level of reliability in service offerings.

How It Works

FiberConnect is a SAL service. You simply order the service with an electrical interface. Each of FiberConnect’s four 1.544 Mbps transmission channels has its own circuit ID, so you can order service at the A location, Z location or both of the locations together.

The fiber optic electronics are provisioned on a protected-only basis between Verizon’s serving center and your customer-designated location for added reliability.

Description

FiberConnect is a DS1 service that provides four 1.544 Mbps channels between a Customer Designated Location (CDL) and its Serving Wire Center (SWC). One FiberConnect SAL is the equivalent of 4 DS1s. The equipment provided at the CDL offers protection capability at the DS1 level. FiberConnect is offered under an Optional Payment Plan (OPP) with 1, 3, and 5 year terms available. The four DS1s which comprise the FiberConnect SAL will be counted toward the in-service quantity of DS1s for customers subscribing to Eight and Ten year Term Volume Plans (ETTVP).

Availability

FiberConnect is available under FCC Tariff No. 14 in the following states: CA, FL, IL, IN, NC, OR, TX, VA, WA, ID, MI, OH, SC, WI.

Pricing

For FiberConnect Non-Recurring Charges and Monthly Recurring Charges (NRC and MRC) by state please refer to FCC Tariff No. 14, section 5.7.8. FiberConnect service can be ordered with Special Transport (mileage sensitive) or Metrolan Special Transport (not mileage sensitive) where applicable. Descriptions of both services can be found in FCC Tariff No. 14.
