Product Manager - Donna Pero

Global Inbound Service offers Intelligent Network Call Processing (INCP) to offer a reliable, feature-rich, international toll-free service on a global network strengthened by state-of-the-art CS-1 architecture. This facilities-based offering allows for several access and egress methods based on the availability of Verizon in-country facilities.

Global Inbound access methods:

Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN)

PSTN is a popular access method as it provides a call center with an in-country phone number and the appearance of a local presence, even when the center is located in another country. PSTN is also popular as it allows the cost of the call to be divided between the caller and the called party. With PSTN, the caller pays a per-minute rate for the call from the point-of-origination to the Verizon Enterprise facilities located in the country of call origination. The remainder of the call, from the Verizon Enterprise facility through to termination at the customers call center, is paid for by the Verizon Enterprise customer. PSTN service is available in those countries where Verizon Enterprise operates facilities. PSTN service is also referred to as Geographic Number.

Shared Cost

Shared cost originations are similar to PSTN in that they provide in-country or local appearance, regardless of the centers actual location, and permit costs to be divided between the caller and call center. With shared cost calls, however, the caller pays a pre-determined, per-minute rate to the local service provider (PTT) for local service, while the additional transport costs are absorbed by the call center. Availability of shared cost access is dependent on PTT/regulatory offerings, and the availability of Verizon Enterprise in-country facilities.

Domestic Toll Free/National Freephone

In-country toll-free service gives a call center a "local" appearance, regardless of where it is actually located. End-user customers dial a local or in-country toll-free number and are connected to the call center located next door, or in the next country. National freephone service is available in those countries where Verizon Enterprise operates facilities.

International Freephone

Global Inbound extends International Toll Free numbers to offer toll-free access when no in-country facilities are available, but where Verizon Enterprise correspondent relationships are established. End-users access call centers through an international toll-free number, routed through the Verizon Enterprise international gateway located in the U.S.

Universal International Freephone Numbers (UIFN)

UIFN permits customers to offer the same toll-free number from all international locations. Call dial patterns do vary by country, and not all countries provide UIFN.

Global Inbound termination methods:

Dedicated Termination

Facilities-Based Access Line: Facilities-based access is available from Verizon Enterprise lit buildings, or those locations that physically sit on the Verizon Enterprise Local SONET ring. Access is provided via a direct connection to the Verizon Enterprise network.

DAL or Leased Line: Dedicated access is available for those customers located off the Verizon Enterprise SONET ring, but within reach of a Verizon Enterprise facility. Dedicated access is provided via a line leased from the local service provider or PTT, and links the customer directly to the Verizon Enterprise network. Dedicated lines may be digital 24-channel (T1) or digital 30-channel (E1).

Integrated Access: Integrated Access offers a cost-effective solution for customers with locations in Europe because International Integrated Access combines voice and data onto a single E1 access circuit, eliminating the cost of multiple E1 access connections to the same location.
