Provide Backup for Your Customers
Verizon’s U.S. Wavelength service lets you provide dedicated bandwidth customer solutions such that each request for service is designed and priced on an individual-case basis. U.S. Wavelength service gives your subscribers options for using single or multipoint configuration optical network connectivity services that can help preserve their critical business data.
Our U.S. Wavelength service delivers 2.5 Gbps and 10 Gbps wavelength speeds between InterLATA locations. The service can be configured as either transparent or non-transparent, and uses SONET framing to provide an optical handoff on the wavelength. Subscribers receive a highly reliable network. You can offer your customers SONET OC-48 and OC-192, D1 Video, GigE, Fiber Channel, FICON or ESCON interfaces for both 2.5 and 10 Gbps wavelength speeds.
How It Works
U.S. Wavelength service uses an InterLATA 2.5 Gbps or 10 Gbps optical circuit that is delivered over the IXC network as an unprotected (2 wire) or protected (4 wire) signal using Dense Wave Division Multiplexing. Many data streams can then travel over the same pair of fiber by using different colors of light.

Secure the Future
Verizon’s U.S. Wavelength service can help ensure that your customers’ data is safe and available. And, the service positions you as a major competitor in the telecommunications marketplace by giving you capabilities that help to keep your subscribers loyal to you as a provider.
The U.S. Wavelength product is an InterLATA Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) service designed to offer a 2.5Gbps and 10Gbps optical circuit. U.S. Wavelength Service allows the customer to purchase single or multiple wavelengths in a point-to-point or multi-point configuration. Wavelength Services provide businesses with an efficient and scalable way to connect mainframes, data centers, and storage networks across the United States. This high-bandwidth optical network makes it possible for many data streams to travel over the same pair of fiber by utilizing different colors of light.
This is delivered as an unprotected or protected signal using DWDM. Its flexibility lends itself as a protocol-independent universal optical interface and is designed for InterLATA locations within the United States. It is supported by the following wavelength and equipment interfaces:
