Private IP (PIP) is Verizon’s global MPLS-based IP VPN service that offers customers any-to-any IP connectivity with the privacy and quality of service (QoS) associated with Layer 2 services. PIP is based on Cisco’s implementation of the IETF’s RFC 4364bis and uses IP-over-MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) technology in conjunction with Multiprotocol BGP (MBGP) to assure strict separation of customer IP traffic and to deliver value-add features like DiffServ-compliant classes of service and multicast virtual private networks (MVPN). Verizon Partner Solutions customers can serve a global marketplace using PIP arrangements in more than 150+ countries where available. That means that you and your customers can grow and expand whenever you are ready ... thus gaining a significant competitive advantage.
PIP access allows a wide range of applications that help you efficiently and cost-effectively run your company and increase opportunities to expand customer service offerings for generating additional revenue. Your customers need and want the capabilities that PIP provides. For example, use PIP to provide yourself and your customers with the ability to support Layer 3 (IP) applications in a closed environment.
