FlexGrow Fractional Frame Relay Service Order Guide

FlexGrow Fractional Frame Relay Service Order Guide

Overview

The purpose of this document is to assist carriers with ordering FlexGrow Fractional Frame Relay Service.

FlexGrow Fractional Frame Relay Service represents a cost effective means to provide Frame Relay Service to FlexGrow customers. A greater number of Frame Relay Service access speeds will be available to address different customer requirements at competitive price points.

Customers may select data transmission rates of 256 Kbps, 384 Kbps, 512 Kbps, and 768 Kbps. The Fractional FRS interface will be configured at the Frame Relay switch and the service will terminate on a co-located 3/1 Digital Cross-Connect System (DCS) that serves as the interconnection point, i.e. meet-point, to the FlexGrow Service.

This service will enable a customer to utilize spare contiguous channels on its FlexGrow Service to access the Frame Relay network and eliminate the requirement (and associated costs) for a dedicated point-to-point circuit between the customer's premises and the Frame Relay network.

FlexGrow:

FlexGrow is a digital service that provides network access between a customer's premises and the local service office on a channelized high capacity DS1 facility. The DS1 integrates voice (local), long distance, and Internet access service, and Fractional Frame Relay Service connectivity.

NOTE: 128kbps port speed is not available in FCC for FlexGrow service connection.

FRS UNI Port Only:

UNI Port Only Connection provides a Frame Relay Service Network connection based on the port connection speeds of 128k, 256k, 384k, 512k, and 768k. The channel speed of the access channel must be sufficient to accommodate the FRS Port speed. Each port can accommodate multiple PVCs. UNI Port Only Connections do not include transport from the customers serving wire center to the Frame Relay switch.

Pre-Order

Prior to submitting an ASR Carriers should use the Service Address Validation Pre Order Function. By using this function, Carriers will be provided the correct service address as well as the Serving Wire Center, which will be needed to process their ASR.

Once the Port Only ASR is processed, a CFA will be provided from the data services group for the FlexGrow portion of the service. The CFA will be returned via the confirmation or an informational C/NR
