The purpose of this guide is to assist carriers with ordering IP Port Service.
IP Port Only is a service element in the Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP-VPN) tariff that represents a physical port on a router. This router provides the interface to Verizon's IntraLATA IP Multiprotocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) network that is used to provide IP-VPN service. IP-VPN service traffic is aggregated for routing purposes at LATA Core Routers (LCRs) in each LATA. A customer connects a port on their router to Verizon's LCR IP Port via standard SONET connections.
Prior to carriers submitting an ASR request for IP PORT ONLY service a pre-planning session between carriers and Verizon is required. As a result of this session carriers will be provided with an LCR (LATA Core Router), CLLI code and an IP Address (Internet Protocol), which is required for their ASR.
Carriers will be eligible, upon completion of the pre-planning session, to submit an ASR for IP PORT ONLY services.
A complete ASR is essential to properly provision and bill IP Port services. All fields on the ASR (including those not listed here) must be populated according to the Access Business Rules. Nataliya-Please add the Acccess Business Rules Link.
