IntelliLight Optical Transport Service (IOTS) Order Guide

IntelliLight Optical Transport Service (IOTS) Order Guide

Overview

The purpose of this document is to assist carriers with ordering IntelliLight Optical Transport Service (IOTS).

IntelliLight Optical Transport Service (IOTS) is a Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) ring based service, offering multi-node diversely routed ring architecture. This design allows for the provisioning of protected (self-healing) channels and unprotected channels. IOTS utilizes a DWDM ring solely for use by the customer of record. Both the facilities and Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (OADM) nodes are fully dedicated. The service allows a customer to specify the location of the nodes.

Pre-Order

All requests and inquiries for IOTS service require pre-negotiation between your planning organization and your Verizon Account Manager. During the pre-planning process, your Account Manager will provide pricing information, service availability, due dates, as well as coordination with Verizon's Network personnel to provide schematics and check for facilities. After all pre-sale negotiation, pricing, and build of the facility is complete you will submit the ASR for your IOTS configuration.

Order

A complete ASR is essential to properly provision and bill IOTS access services. The following information pertains to the fields that will impact IOTS requests. All fields on the ASR (including those not listed here) must be populated according to the Access Business Rules.

When this product is ordered under a private carriage agreement (Forbearance), the Contract ID must be populated in the PNUM Field on the ASR Form. Learn more about Forbearance or contact your Account Manager for more details.
