Overview
This service provides the Local Service Provider with an informational
section in the Primary White Pages and combined Primary White and
Yellow Pages Telephone Directories. This section will appear within
the Customer Guide section. This section is designed to contain
customer contact telephone numbers that may be used by end users
to reach a specific Local Service Provider.
It is important to note that Local Service Providers must be
aware of and prepared for the potential call volume, which can
arise from listing such numbers in a reference section of a directory.
Telephone numbers listed must be active and have sufficient capacity
to handle demand. Verizon will not be responsible for handling
any end user complaints or handling any end user contact related
to overflow or misdirected call traffic generated from these informational
pages.
Eligibility
This section is limited to State Certified Local Dial Tone Service
Providers only. Only Local Service Provider specific information
is eligible for inclusion. Any authorized Local Dial Tone Service
Provider operating with established end users in the geographic
region covered by a specific Primary White Pages or combined Primary
White and Yellow Pages Directory is eligible for inclusion in
this section of that specific directory.
Product Description
Verizon retains full editorial control over this section of the
White Pages. Any disputes regarding editorial content, as well
as any disputes arising from eligibility for inclusion in the
Local Service Provider sections, will be resolved by Verizon at
its sole discretion.
This section is not part of the Verizon branded Customer Guide.
Pages in this section use the same paper stock format as the existing
Verizon Customer Guide pages (a page is defined as one side of
the paper). Local Service Providers are listed in alphabetical
order by letter, beginning with the first letter in the first
word of their official company names. The Local Service Provider's
company name and/or logo are left justified and appear above the
customer contact numbers. Company names may be abbreviated or
displayed as acronyms; however, placement is still alphabetized
by letter. For example, "Alert Telephone Company" would appear
before "Alternate Telephone Company." Verizon will resolve any
alphabetizing issues, should any arise. Partial pages are structured
and alphabetized based on visual appeal and the number of segments
included. Parent company name and subsidiary company name are
not duplicated as separate sections. Specifications for logos,
text and numeric character quantity, justification, font size,
style, etc. are uniform for all Local Service Providers. Local
Service Providers interact directly with Verizon to exchange,
review and maintain information.
Local Service Providers forward their logos to Verizon via email
as a black and white graphics file attachment. Only black and
white graphics files will be accepted. Verizon forwards a proof
to the Local Service Provider for approval or correction. Verizon
works directly with Local Service Providers on information formatting
based on listing information submitted. Listing information to
be included in this section must be submitted no later than the
Telco Close Date, to ensure inclusion in a directory.
Policy Issues
Verizon retains full editorial control over this section of the
White Pages. Any disputes regarding editorial content, as well
as any disputes arising from eligibility for inclusion in the
Local Service Provider sections, will be resolved by Verizon at
its sole discretion.
Companies operating as both a CLEC and a Reseller are not entitled
to an additional placement in this section of the Directory. This
section is intended to communicate basic customer contact information
(Installation, Repair, Billing, etc.) and identifying company
logo only. Tag lines, slogans and any other advertising content
are not permitted in this section. No references to other advertising
shall appear in this section.
Inappropriate telephone numbers and messages are not permitted
in this section. All numbers and text listed are subject to Federal
and State Regulatory rules, which may be applicable. Telephone
numbers for paging service, cellular service, Internet service
or any other business ventures are prohibited. Verizon reserves
the right to monitor compliance with these guidelines. In the
absence of a company logo, Verizon is authorized to use the official
Local Service Provider company name as an identifier (in the appropriate
font style and point size as determined by Verizon). Verizon references
the location of these pages on the Verizon Customer Guide Index
page. Logo reproduction quality levels are in accordance with
internal specifications and subject to any limitations inherent
in the format or content received from the Local Service Provider.
Verizon reserves the right to shrink-to-fit logos for purposes
of this publication.
Telephone numbers that are submitted must be active numbers with
sufficient capacity to handle call volume. Call demand generated
from this section is the responsibility of the Local Service Provider.
Verizon is not responsible for handling any end user complaints
or handling any end user contact related to overflow or misdirected
call traffic generated from these telephone numbers. Verizon reserves
the right to recover any costs incurred from overflow calls into
its customer contact centers as a result of inadequate staffing
on the part of the Local Service Provider.
The Local Service Provider section is being provided for Local
Service Providers in Primary White Pages and combined White and
Yellow Pages Directories. Space is not made available in Yellow
Pages only, Business-to-Business, Community/Neighborhood Directories,
or other published or electronic DexMedia LLC (publisher
of Verizon print directories) products. Listing information to
be included in this section must be submitted no later than the
Telco Close Date to ensure inclusion in a directory.
Logos
Logos must be supplied as a black (one color black only) white
graphics file (eps or tif file). The logo must be the Provider's
own, not a brand name that the Provider happens to sell. Extra
line text cannot be part of the logo.
