DSR & IOTS Customer Service Management

Customer Service Management (CSM) is a set of features designed to enhance Verizon's optical product line. CSM features and functionalities enable our Dedicated Sonet Ring (DSR) and Intellilight® Optical Transport Service (IOTS) customers to have access to real time information about the operational status of the optical networks that they purchase from Verizon.

The CSM network is a web-based application, fully redundant and meets Verizon's security standards through a series of firewalls and password levels. All data transmitted across the network is encrypted to insure that the customer's and Verizon's data is secure.

For DSR customers, under Verizon's access tariffs FCC No. 1, Sect. 7.2.14, FCC No. 11, Sect. 7.2.17, FCC No. 14, Sect. 20.2, and FCC No. 16, Sect. 20.2, CSM is offered with three distinctive levels of service:

SL-1 – Network View

  • Provides real time surveillance
  • Access to maintenance alarms
  • Network health indicators

SL-2 – Network View and Network Reports

  • Network View capabilities
  • Network Reports of performance monitoring data
  • Standardized & Custom reports are available

SL-3 – Network View, Network Reports & Reconfiguration

  • Network View & Network Reports features
  • Reconfiguration capabilities of pre-planned circuit connections

For IOTS customers, under Verizon's access tariffs FCC No. 1, Sect. 7.2.14, FCC No. 11, Sect. 7.2.19, FCC No. 14, Sect. 20.1, and FCC No. 16, Sect. 20.1, CSM is offered under the following plan:
